|Carolyn C. Minear is a recent University Distinguished Fellowship recipient at Michigan State University, where she is completing a Ph.D. in music education with a cognate in choral conducting. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, she received degrees in Music Education and Musicology from Florida State University, and certification in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. Her current research interests include professional development for music educators, music assessment in ensemble settings, and music leadership.
Prior to coming to MSU, Ms. Minear served as Fine Arts Program Coordinator for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida, where she helped coordinate fine arts curriculum and instruction in 175 schools with 600 fine arts teachers and their administrators. She is delighted to be at SIUE to pursue her passion for excellence in teaching while continuing to learn and grow.
