INTRODUCTION

The European Studies minor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is an interdisciplinary program drawn from subject areas in the social sciences and the humanities. The courses focus on Western and Eastern Europe across time periods. Students pursuing a European Studies minor must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours at the 300 level above from the approved course list. At least one course must be taken in three of the four areas, including but not limited to: Art, Geography, History, Political Science, Philosophy, or Foreign Languages. Courses not on the list may be acceptable if approved by the European Studies advisor.
