Course Information


ART 202(a) Foundation Studio in Scultpture

Introductory course in sculpture, designed to expose students to welding, casting, and wood construction.

Prerequisites: ART 112c and 112d.


ART 393 Sculpture

Exploration of contemporary sculpture making with emphasis on development of techniques and ideas. (a) Model Form, (b) Cast Form, (c) Assembled Form.

Prerequisites: ART 202a.


ART 402 Research in Sculpture

Exploration of current trends in sculpture-making, with emphasis on interaction of technique and idea.

May be repeated up to a maximum of 12 hours.
Prerequisites: ART 393a,b or 393c.  Art majors only.



ART 502 Graduate Sculpture

Research in sculpture with emphasis on development of individual three-dimensional art-making styles and studio techniques.

May be repeated to a maximum of 12 hours.
MFA candidates only.
Prerequisite: ART 402 or concurrent enrollment.


ART 504 Studio in Sculpture

Research in sculpture with emphasis on development of individual three-dimensional art-making styles and studio techniques.

May be repeated to a maximum of 18 hours.
MFA candidates only.
Prerequisite: 502 or concurrent enrollment.
