ADVISEMENT & REGISTRATION

Advising for Summer & Fall 2013

Students who are advised in CAS Undergraduate Advising may begin meeting with advisors for Summer and/or Fall 2013 advisement starting January 22, 2013.

Types of Advising

Traditional Advising Appointment - Schedule a 30 minute appointment with your advisor.

Express Advising Appointment - Have EXPRESS ADVISING FORM complete and meet with your advisor either Tuesday morning or Wednesday afternoon. You  must meet the requirements on the form to be able to do Express Advising.

Student Responsibilities with Advisement:

Prior to the Advisement Appointment:

  • Explore courses you plan to take the upcoming semester via CougarNet or the Undergraduate Catalog. Both are available online through the Office of the Registrar – http://www.siue.edu/registrar, or through CougarNet.

Day of the Advisement Appointment:

  • Please arrive on-time. Arriving late to your appointment could either shorten the amount of time you have with your advisor, or even cause you to have to reschedule your appointment.

After your Advisement Appointment:

  • Plan to go through CougarNet to look up the Course Reference Numbers (CRN) for each class you intend to register.
  • Be in contact with your advisor should you make any course changes.

Registration for Summer and Fall 2013

Students will have access to register via CougarNet after they have met with an academic advisor, planned their course for the upcoming semester, and received their CAS Undergraduate Advising worksheet and their Alternate PIN.

The Web Registration schedule has been established by the Office of the Registrar and will occur for each classification on the dates below.
