Dr. Robert Paulett was born in Richmond, Virginia. He obtained his bachelor's degree from James Madison University and his master's and doctoral degrees in history from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Today he is an assistant professor in the Department of Historical Studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
