Mentor Program - The Career Development Center Mentor Program allows students to connect with SIUE alumni and employers to explore career opportunities and options. Through this program, students may contact participating alumni and employers via e-mail to ask questions and gather information about their field of interest or major area.  As an alumnus or employer, you can register to be a mentor to current SIUE students through this e-mail program. Once you have registered with the CDC for the program, students will be able to e-mail you for assistance with questions about your field of expertise. Alumni and employers from all majors, fields of interest, and industries are encouraged to participate in this program.  Click here to register with the mentor program.

Non-Profit Organizations - If you work for a non-profit organization and would like to offer volunteer opportunities to fellow SIUE alumni, please e-mail your contact information to kabenne@siue.edu.

Shiloh School Mentor Program - Shiloh Elementary and Shiloh Middle School are currently seeking volunteers for the Shiloh School Mentoring Program. The program is designed to provide children with an opportunity to develop a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult from the community. Students who participate in the program range from kindergarten to eighth grade. Mentors and students usually spend time playing games, doing craft activities, playing outside or just talking. The students really enjoy having a caring adult role model with which to spend time. A consistent schedule works best to maintain a trusting relationship and provide stability for the student and their families. Individuals interested in becoming a mentor must complete a mentor application, which is used to match mentors with a student who has similar interests. All mentors for Shiloh Village Schools must complete a background check prior to volunteering. Mentors must also attend a brief mentor training after all paperwork has been filed. Please click the links to review the mentor policy form and mentor application.  Individuals interested in volunteering as a mentor should contact the Mentor Coordinator, Jessica Seger, via e-mail at jseger@shi85.org or by phone at 618-632-7434 to receive a complete packet.

SIUeDAY - Volunteers are needed for the fall 2008 SIUeDAY planning committee. SIUeDAY is a University-wide fundraising initiative. The overall focus is to celebrate SIUE while gaining faculty/staff, retirees, and the local business community support annually. It is imperative for SIUE to secure its family gifts first to show the community that we believe in what we do here at the University. The goal for both the local business and campus community will be participation. SIUeDAY will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2008. To be put on the committee list, please contact Julie Babington at 618.650.2378 or via e-mail at jbabing@siue.edu.
