 | SIUE Alumni Volunteer Day with Habitat for Humanity - September 20th SIUE alumni, students and friends helped Habitat for Humanity at one of their 27 build sites in the JeffVanderLou Neighborhood of St. Louis on Saturday, September 20th.  | STAT Party @ the Lake - September 17th STAT - Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow - held a welcome back party on Wednesday, September 17th at the Cougar Lake Pavilion. This was the first social event for STAT members and alumni to interact and network. Party @ the Lake offered free food, live music, outdoor games and more.  | Welcome Back Block Party - September 5th The SIUE Alumni Association greeted alumni and friends at the Welcome Back Block Party held at the intersection of Second and St. Louis Streets in downtown Edwardsville on Friday, September 5th.  | New Freshman Welcome - August 23rd The SIUE Alumni Association and STAT welcomed the newest class of future Cougar grads during the New Freshman Welcome on Saturday. The day started with the welcome convocation and the Class of 2009 photo around the cougar statue. Between academic advising sessions and campus tours, the students had their first chance to paint The Rock and sign up for the new student alumni association.  | Whitaker Music Festival - June 4th The SIUE Alumni Association participated in the Whitaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, June 4th. Alumni stopped by the table and registered for the chance to win t-shirts and polo shirts before enjoying the Erin Bode performance. The free Wednesday-night concert series runs through August 13th.  | Mass Comm Night - April 11th SIUE Mass Comm alumni, faculty and students attended the Mass Comm Alumni Night on Friday, April 11th. The Mass Comm department awarded scholarships to current students and recognized Jack Klobnak with the alumni achievement award. The alumni emcee for the evening was Fox 2's Paul Shankmann.  | Student Leaders Reunion - February 29th Former members of Student Government, presidents of student organization, members of Greek groups, Resident Assistants, RHA, Campus Activities Board and more returned to SIUE to celebrate their legacy at the Student Leaders Reunion on Saturday, March 1st. Attendees enjoyed a breakfast buffet, campus tours and free tickets to the last home basketball games as a Division I school. The brunch program included presentations by Chancellor Vandegrift, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Nobby Emmanuel, men's basketball Head Coach Lennox Forrester and updates on future campus building projects. The Alumni Reception took place before the concert at The Bistro across Grand from the Fox Theater.  | Wicked - January 6th SIUE alumni attended the final performance of Wicked at the Fabulous Fox Theater on Sunday, January 6, 2008. 60 guests started the day with the Alumni Association for a delicious buffet at Jazz at the Bistro before heading over for the 2pm matinee performance of Broadway's biggest blockbuster. Attendees enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner buffet, drinks and dessert as well as the chance to reconnect with some of the 700 alumni living in the area.  | Ghost Tour - October 24th The SIUE Alumni Association presented Ghost Tour on Wednesday, October 24th. Attendees boarded a bus at Birger Hall for a bus ride of St. Louis' haunted pass. We enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner at the Feasting Fox Restaurant, a historical tour of several St. Louis destinations and a moonlight stroll through an old cemetery.  | Cougar Statue Dedication - October 3rd SIUE renewed its love affair with the cougar mascot on Wednesday, October 3rd at the unveiling of the new cougar sculpture outside of the main entrance of the Morris University Center. The unveiling ceremony was attended by several alums including former Student Body Presidents and members of the Cougar Guard who cared for the cougars.
