What if I am on a waitlist?
When you add your name to the waitlist of a closed class (when the class allows waitlisting), you are NOT registered for that class. You do not pay fees for that class, nor can you check out textbooks for that course; a waitlist is only a list of the students who wanted to register for the class after it closed. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee eventual registration in that class.
Waitlists are for informational purposes only. Individual departments may monitor the waitlists and move students into registered status as seats become available. Therefore, it is a waitlisted student's responsibility to frequently check their student schedule for changes.
Since closed courses may become open based on registration changes throughout the registration period, students are encouraged to frequently check course availability.
Waitlists are only maintained until the week before the beginning of the term. After that date they are removed from the system and given to the instructors who will control the enrollments in the classes. If you attend the first class meeting and the instructor allows you to enroll in the class, the instructor will sign your Registration Form. You must take this form to the Service Center where you will be officially enrolled in the class. You must print a copy of your schedule to know your waitlisted classes.
