Answers to other questions
If you wish to be advised for an upcoming semester, you must complete the appropriate semester of your COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PLAN and bring it with you to your appointment. You can find it in your Academic Advising Portfolio, or if you don't have one, access a new workbook.
After you make an appointment to see an academic advisor, please complete these steps:
1. Access the Curriculum Guide for your intended major. If you are uncertain about the major you want to pursue, click here for advice on Finding an SIUE major.
2. Access your academic transcript via Cougar Net to identify the courses which you have completed and those you are currently taking.
3. Prepare a list of courses that you would be interested in taking next semester, and complete the appropriate page of your Comprehensive Education Plan. Also look at the questions posed at the bottom of that page. Be sure to check the prerequisites for these courses. To learn how, see the CougarNet User Guide.
