Whether you already are admitted to SIUE or are still considering your options, Explore Academic Excellence Days at SIUE are a great opportunity to learn more about your academic program choice. You can tour the SIUE campus, see a residence hall, and speak with representatives from the offices of Admissions and Student Financial Aid.
8 a.m. — Check-in begins in the Morris University Center (MUC)
Advisors will be available for general questions until 8:20 a.m. in the Goshen Lounge.
8:30 a.m. — Welcome Session (MUC - Meridian Ballroom)
This session will be a brief overview of the School of Nursing.
8:45–9:15 a.m. — Traditional Option Session, MUC Meridian Ballroom (following Welcome Session)
This session will review admission requirements and curriculum information. The Traditional Option
is for high school and transfer students.
9:15–9:45 a.m. — Student Panel, MUC Meridian Ballroom (following Traditional Session)
Current students from the Edwardsville and Carbondale campuses will be available to answer
questions. Parents are welcome to attend.
10 a.m. – 12 noon — Nursing Advisors, Alumni Hall, 2nd floor, Student Lounge
Available for general program questions only. Individual advisement or transcript evaluation will not
be available at this event.

Session A: Accelerated Option Session — Alumni Hall 1301
This session will review admission requirements and curriculum information. The Accelerated Option
is for students with a prior bachelor’s degree in another field that wish to pursue a second
bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Session B: RN to BS Option (for current registered nurses) — Alumni Hall 3403
10 a.m. session only
This session will review admission requirements and program information for the online option
available to students who are working as registered nurses.
Session C: Master’s Degree Programs and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program – Alumni Hall 3402
This session will review admission requirements and program information for the Nurse Anesthesia,
Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, and Health Care and Nursing Administration master’s
degree options. The DNP also will be reviewed.
Session D: Financial Aid Opportunities – Alumni Hall 2401
This session will review information about how to finance your education.
Session E: What is it like to be a Nursing Student? (For students only) – Alumni Hall 0206
In this session, prospective students will be able to meet with our current nursing students who will
share their own experiences and answer questions.
10 a.m. – 12 noon — School of Nursing Simulated Learning Center – 2nd floor
Walk in and visit our simulated laboratory, which uses seven mannequins to simulate life experiences
for students in an interactive health care environment. Listen to a heartbeat or lung sounds,
see pupils dilate, and much more!
