SIUE Group Visit

Thank you for your interest in a group tour of SIUE. All group tours take place during the spring and summer sessions (mid-January through July).

To schedule your tour, please complete and submit the online registration form (below) as soon as possible so that we may make arrangements for your group. Pay special attention to the section marked “Special Requests/Comments” to alert us to any accommodations your group might require.

We offer group tours on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Your visit to campus will include a 30-minute presentation given by an admission counselor with a tour immediately following. SIUE does not provide lunch for group tours, however if your group wishes to dine on campus, you may do so at your own expense.

Once we receive your reservation request, we will send you a confirmation and program agenda.

If you have a special request, please contact us at (618) 650−3705, and we will do our best to accommodate your tour. Please know that we may not be able to accommodate your request.

Again, we appreciate your interest in SIUE and look forward to further correspondence with you. We hope to provide you with an informative and enjoyable visit.

Group Visit Policies

  • Please provide the Office of Admissions one month’s notice for group tours of 50 students or more and at least two weeks’ notice for group tours of 50 students or fewer.
  • List three possible group tour dates in order of preference on your registration form.
  • Identify any special circumstances, needs, or requests for your visit.
  • Please be on time for your visit. If an emergency occurs, notify us of your situation. Please call (618) 650−3705 to inform us if you are running late, need to cancel or if an emergency has occurred.
  • Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact the Office of Admissions no less than 48 hours before your scheduled visit.
  • Please let us know whether you will arrive at SIUE by bus or by van, so that we can arrange for parking.

Group Visit Guidelines

  • When possible, tours should be scheduled for days that classes are in session. This will provide visitors with a better perspective of campus life and increase the probability of finding tour guides.
  • If visiting groups have staff (e.g. chaperones or counselors), we ask that you accompany students on the tour at all times and be responsible for their behavior.
  • When touring academic buildings, please be advised that classes are in session. We ask that you keep your voices low not to disturb students, faculty and nearby offices.
  • The visit will include a substantial amount of walking. Please encourage all students to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
  • We welcome your organization to our campus! Please show the same respect to the University and its students, faculty and staff. Failure to do so will result in early conclusion of your tour and limited availability for future visits by your organization.
  • Please let us know whether you will arrive at SIUE by bus or by van, so that we can arrange for parking.

Disclaimer: No tours will be adjusted the day of your scheduled tour. Our tour guides are SIUE students and cannot adjust their class schedule. All academic departments have been contacted prior to your visit and have set aside time. If a group tour is running late, we will accommodate the schedule moving forward from the point of arrival.
