1. What will I do at Springboard to Success?

2. Do I have to participate in all parts of Springboard to Success?
Yes. All sessions are designed to give you the basics to start your education here at SIUE. You will also meet with an academic advisor and schedule your first semester of courses.

4. What should I bring to Springboard to Success?
You will need to bring your student ID number (found in your admission packet), photo identification (such as a driver’s license or state issued identification card), any personal items required for an overnight stay (we provide linens and towels, but other than this, if you need it to start or end your day, please bring it with you), comfortable clothing and shoes (you will be walking around campus), and a sweatshirt or jacket.
5. Will I get my student ID at Springboard to Success?
Yes. Students will have the opportunity to get their CougarCard at Springboard to Success. Be sure to bring a valid state photo identification (such as a driver’s license or state issued identification card). High School Student ID cards will not be accepted.
6. Can I turn in my health immunization forms at Springboard to Success?
Yes. Please bring your completed form you received in your admission packet. If you need one, you can download a new form.
7. Is there a charge for Springboard to Success?
There is a non-refundable Springboard to Success registration fee. Here's a link to more information about registering for Springboard to Success and paying the registration fee.
8. Can I come to any program date I’d like?
Springboard to Success session dates are limited to 200 students per session and are filled as space is available. You may select any date that best fits your summer schedule, as long as the date is still available. Please note: once you have selected a session date, it is difficult to change.
Students who have applied for and been accepted into the Summer Bridge program must register for the June 12-13 session.
Students awarded the Meridian Scholarship are strongly encouraged to attend the May 31-June 1 session.
9. Can parents/guests sit in on my Academic Advising session?
Yes. Parents/guests are more than welcome to be a part of their students’ academic advising. These sessions will be in group settings, but allow for individual time as well. Parents/guests will not be allowed to accompany their student during course registration. Unfortunately, the computer labs where the student will be registering are not conducive to parent/guest attendance.
10. Can my parents/guests stay overnight in the residence hall?
No. Parents/guests are responsible for making their own off-campus accommodations. Here's a website with directions and a list of local accommodations.
11. Where can I park on campus?
Students and parents/guests may park in Visitor Parking Lot B. There will be Springboard to Success Student Leaders in the parking lot from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you enter Visitor Lot B before a Springboard Student leader arrives at 11:30 a.m., you will need to pay one of the Kiosks for parking. If you enter Visitor Lot B, you will need to pick up a 2-day parking pass from the registration table in Morris University Center’s Meridian Ballroom.
12. Can I bring a friend who will not be attending SIUE as a new freshman?
No. Only SIUE admitted freshmen and their family members may attend Springboard to Success. A friend who would like to visit the campus is always welcome to contact the Office of Admissions at (800) 447‑SIUE to set up a tour.
13. Will I have to take placement tests?
You must complete all placement tests before attending Springboard to Success. To determine whether you need placement tests, please refer to the placement test information sheet or contact the Office of Admissions at (618) 650-3705, (800) 447-SIUE, or springboard@siue.edu.

17. What if I am not able to attend?
All newly admitted freshmen are required to attend a Springboard to Success session. If you are unable to attend any of the available sessions, contact the Office of Admissions at (618) 650‑3705, (800) 447‑SIUE (Illinois and Missouri residents only), or springboard@siue.edu.
