In May 2014, Jennifer was fortunate to be able to return to her alma mater and serve as associate director of Admissions. A native of Tuscola, Ill., Jennifer launched her career in higher education in 2002 upon earning a bachelor of science degree in social work. From 2002 to 2005, she was an admission counselor at SIUE, where her primary responsibilities encompassed supporting and assisting prospective students as they navigated the college search and admissions process. Jennifer’s professional path continued at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2005 to 2009, where she held positions that focused on admissions, advising, recruitment, and program planning. In January 2010, Jennifer was blessed to accept the position of associate director of Admissions and Records at Parkland College in Champaign, where she gained experience in staff supervision, records management, and leadership of campus-wide initiatives. She held this position until her return to SIUE.
Jennifer has participated in several professional organizations throughout her career, including the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC), Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC), Illinois Community College Admissions and Records Officers Organization (ICCAROO), and Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (IACRAO). She is a member of the IACRAO Executive Board and expects to earn a master of science degree in corporate and organizational communication from Northeastern University in May 2016.
While Jennifer thoroughly enjoys working with all students, her favorite populations include transfer and nontraditional students. She values the opportunity to serve as a key resource for students as they prepare for transition to SIUE and strive to achieve their dreams.
Jennifer loves to spend quality time with family and friends as well as read, travel, volunteer, and cheer on her favorite NFL team – Go Seahawks!
