The keynote speaker is Mary Taylor Huber. As a scholar at the Carnegie Foundation, Dr. Huber has done extensive research in teaching and learning in higher education. Her latest work "Balancing Acts: The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Academic Careers" explores the art of integrating the scholarship of teaching into academic life. The symposium will consist of sessions that will discuss the different career choices made by faculty in higher education, how faculty at SIUE have successfully balanced their careers, and tips for success at SIUE.
