Officer’s Meeting
September 10, 2004

MEMBERS PRESENT:
Christine Danowski, Crystal Haselhorst, Dr. Marlette (Adviser), Stacey Stawar,
Rachel Whitehead, Christy Woodward
(Presiding)
TENTATIVE AGENDA:
- Melissa Thomeczek
Presentation
- Discuss Old Business
- Discuss New Business
OLD BUSINESS:
- Dr. Marlette is going to
follow up on obtaining a central database with the technology assistant.
- It was decided that each
officer would be provided with a binder in which to keep all important
information. The binders were chosen, and will be ordered soon.
- Stacey is contacting the
Science Center for more information regarding group discounts.
- Dr. Marlette is going to
contact Dr. Floyt about possibly presenting at a Chapter meeting.
- It is the goal of the
Chapter to have at least one meeting or activity per month.
- Membership fees will be
discussed at the next meeting.
- Melissa Thomeczek
visited and is willing to present “Learning in the Palm of Your Hand” on
September 28, 2004. She is also willing to present at a later date, using
brand new technology that could be used in the classroom.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Fees? Discuss with
members present what reasonable fees would be.
- Have new members present
fill out membership forms.
- Discuss the upcoming
field trip and October meeting.
- Discuss a possible date
for the November meeting/ event, and discuss what
type of event we will plan for November.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
- September 28, 2004-“Learning
in the Palm of Your Hand” presentation by Melissa Thomeczek at 5:00 PM. Dr.
Marlette said he would find a room. A regular meeting will follow the
presentation.
- October 23, 2004-Field
trip to Shawnee National Forest. Christy said she will post a message on
WebCT to determine how many people are interested. Cost is $5.00 per person.
- October 2004-“Ag
in the Classroom” by Beth Dorsey. Christy is going to contact Beth to
determine a mutually convenient date and time.
LOOKING AHEAD:
- February 12, 2005-Science
Olympiad
- February 19, 2005-School
of Education Open House. There was talk of possibly setting up a booth if
anyone is interested.
- March 2005-Madison
County Teachers Institute, St. Clair County Teachers Institute, Math & Science
Conference. Anyone interested in presenting is encouraged to do so.
- National Convention in
Chicago. Date is yet to be determined.
NEXT MEETING:
September 28, 2004 (following Dr.
Thomaczek’s presentation).
