1. Book/bake sale
a. This week is the book/bake sale. Thanks to all those who have been helping. So far, we have made around
$200. We still have 2 days left!

b. You may bring baked goods still if you would like, through Thursday morning. There are still some time slots that
need to be filled if you would like to help with that. Either of these will count as an "event"

c. The sale is to raise money in order for the club to buy a tree for the SIUE gardens and name it chemis-tree.
Probably about 50% of the profit will go to this so our club can go "green".

d. There is a guy who is scanning our books. He works for an independent bookstore. He may be interested in
buying some of our books. We are currently talking with some professors to find out if it is even legal for us to sell
to the bookstore. It would be a good way to make money for our club, however, one of our main goals of the
book sale is to sell books to students for a very low price.
Old Business
2. Active Members
a. Dylan is currently working on updating active members. Unfortunately all of the info is on Dylan's computer, which
is not working. Therefore, it will be about a week before the new active members can get the code to the room.
3. Tours
a. They are currently being set up by members.
b. Must sign a liability form if you plan on participating in tours, or any other event.

4. CVS
a. Community outreach program through our club.
b. The groups are currently formed, but we are still getting the schools lined up. There were a few problems with
finding enough classrooms to go to.
c. Email Dylan (dydowns@siue.edu) if you have any questions about this.

5. ACS
a. Abstract is due October 20th.
b. Mariellen is working on the abstract.
c. Cheryl is planning on presenting the poster at the conference in the spring.

6. Probst Lecture
a. We are currently working on getting volunteers in order. The process to get money from the student government to
fund the event needs to start soon.
7. Orgsync
a. The club will be switching over to this in spring. It is mandatory by Kimmel.
b. You will hear more about it when the club switches over from Yahoo! groups.

New Business
1. Halloween Party
a. It is at Dr. Shaw's and will start around 5:00. It will be on Halloween this year (October 31st).
b. You can wear costumes, but it is not required.
c. We need a volunteer to help put up posters and bring ice around 4. Chemistry club would reimburse you for the
ice.

2. Next Meeting
a. Tuesday, October 28th at 3:30pm.
b. After that meeting we will start in with the first Friday of the month, then third Tuesday of the month.
