We were invited to a private behind-the-scenes tour of St Louis Zoo and had the most amazing time getting up close and personal with the gentle giants section of the zoo.  We even were allowed to feed live giraffes!

We were also invited to tour the Genome Sequencing Center (GSC) at Washington University in St Louis, which played a part in the Human Genome Project.  After the tour, one member was even hired to work at the GSC!

Missouri Botanical Gardens

October 3-4 2009,

During the eighteenth annual  “Best of Missouri Market” at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, biology club members volunteered their Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons to help children decorate pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, and build wooden toolboxes and trays at the Wood-work station.  It was a lot of fun, and the kids had a great time!
