International Night
During the International Night, SIUE international students and friends perform and show their talent in music, dances, or other cultural representations. International cuisine made by our students is also served during the International Night.
Programming Committee (Chairs: Mukta Puri (mpuri@siue.edu); Shakti Banwat (sbanwat@siue.edu))
Coordinate all aspects of the entertainment for IN. Since the performers have already been chosen, the coordinator will have to make sure all the contracts have been sent to the performers, contact the performers the week before IN to give them information about location, parking, and time. They will be co-ordinating with all the student performers, booking rehersal rooms and make sure all the student performers attend the rehersal on Friday night. Top>>>
Tech Liasion (Chairs: Vikram Vangapally (vvangap@siue.edu))
Coordinate between the International Night performers and SIUE tech support center regarding set up requirements. Make sure that professional and student performers have their music or ppt presentaions ready; all technology that will be used is set up right and also prepares all necessary backgorund slides. The committee, along with the SIUE tech, will be helping performers to set up all the necessary equipment. This committee will gather music from different countries for DJ. This committee will work with Event Co-ordinator. Top>>>

The MC is responsible to present the artists performing during IN, entertain the audience(by telling some jokes, ask some trivia question). Top>>>
Publicity (Chairs: Torrie (towu@siue.edu); Leah Scherwinski (lscherw@siue.edu))
The Publicity Committee will work on designing flyers/Alestle ads, and promote by emails and other advertisements. They will also coordinate the promotion of handbill flyers(seperate from the IN flyers) during IW. The PR Committee is responsible for asking co-sponsorships from international businesses ie GIVEAWAYS. This commitee also schedule interviews during IN with the Alton Telegraph, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Edwardsville Intelligencer, The Alestle, and Belliville News Democrat. Event Coordinator(Chairs: Ravneet Kaur (rnfn@siue.edu))
The co-ordinator will work other student volunteers, ISC, IN programming committee, CAB, MUC, Tech Services, IN committees, and Artists, to make sure the event is running smoothly. The co-ordinator will need to contact David Attaway(Kimmel) who will help with setting up the area and tables.The co-ordinator will also be in charge of co-ordinating the events during IN with an MC and Tech committee. Decoration Committee(Chairs: Ravali Kallem (rkallem@siue.edu); Laurel Williams (lauwill@siue.edu))
They will be in charge of creating decoration ideas for Meridian Ball Room(entrance, tables, walls, etc....). The ideas should be aligned with the main theme for IN. The DC has a budget(check with an ISC board member), and they will have to order material in advance. The ISC has some decorations left from previous years, which can also utilized this year. Top>>>
Food Committee(Chairs: Sai Chaparla (schapar@siue.edu))
The Food committee should be comprised of students from different backgrounds that have an interest in cooking traditional meals(meals from their home country).The FC co-ordinator will arrange for meetings with Vicky(Dining SVCS), and her staff to work on the menu for IN. The FC members should actively work with Dining SVCS to help them cook the food as authentic as possible. For example, if we have a dish from India, one from Nigeria, one from Germany and one from China, then there should be volunteers from each of the above countries to make sure the food is prepared in an authentic way. The FC will make sure that each country's recipe has all available ingredients and ensures that each country will not change their recipe's during food preparation week. Top>>>

The Fashion Show Committee will be incharge of producing a fashion show during IN. Chair and other members will need to attract international students take part in the fashion shows, where they will represent their traditional outfits. They need to setup meetings with the Fashion show participants and make sure they attend the rehersal on Friday Night. Top>>>
