CJ News - Thank You Notes from oversees

On February 28, 2004 the Criminal Justice Club held a "Support Our Troops" rally at the Glen Carbon, Illinois Wal-Mart.

The effort was a GREAT success.
We collected over 800 pounds of miscellaneous supplies and non-perishable snack food items and nearly $1000.00 in funds to cover the expense of shipping these items overseas to our soldiers.

Although the proceeds of the drive were originally intended for the 415th MP Detachment, we collected so much, that our care-packages are being shared with other surrounding or passing units.

Our shipments are being received with great thanks from the men and women serving our country abroad. Here are some of the personal thank you's we have received.

Hello everyone,

I have received numerous emails from several club members, instructors, and family support group personnel that the drive went very well. From myself and all of the other soldiers here with me thank you for your support and efforts. When I get back I will ensure that the club gets some kind of formal recognition from the army.

On a side note, I will be finishing my degree here in Baghdad. I only have a couple of papers to write and some finals to take. It would be nice to be there with everyone but hey, I may never get to experience this again. I hope that all is well with everyone at SIUE.

Take care and once again, thank you,
SGT Roy A Schumacher

To All,

Hello, how is everyone back home in the states. I just wanted to drop a letter to you to say thanks for the help in getting us the packages awhile back. The unit really appreciates it. I know it has been awhile and I should have gotten around to this earlier, but as you know we are very busy here, and the last month has been hard on the soldiers over here. It means a lot to us to know that there are people back at home who support us the way that you guys do. We are doing fine, and the unit has adapted very well to like here. It is still tough as we are so far from home and miss it dearly. We will continue to do our jobs though, as long as our country may need us. I hope this letter finds you all in good spirits, and I know that school is almost out if not already. Have a good summer and enjoy yourselves.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to again thank all those club members, parents, and spouses who took their time to come out and support this cause.
We would also like to thank those who contributed to the items and funds that were collected.

THANK YOU
For Helping Us Make This Happen!
