Welcome to the Department of Speech Communication at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. We offer students opportunities to emphasize studies in public relations, organizational communication, and interpersonal communication. In addition, speech communication, with courses in group communication and public speaking, is a high demand minor for majors in such areas as business, mass communications, political science and sociology. We also offer courses germane to an increasingly diverse, multicultural world - interracial communication, gender communication and intercultural communication.
