   CAN I JOIN?

Any student, faculty, or staff at SIUE can join, not just psychology majors.

Students must have a 2.0 GPA.

   WHY HAVE A PSYCHOLOGY CLUB?

According to a recent survey, undergraduate students in the Psychology Department wish for more social and academic opportunities outside of the classroom.

The Psychology Club's goal is to provide a more broad education to students about psychology.


    Officers and Duties

President: The president's duties will consist of the following:

a. Provide motivation and encouragement to all officers and members of Psychology Club.
b. Preside all membership and executive meetings.
c. Appoint committees; advise committee chairmen; advise members about chapter activities.
d. Delegate responsibilities of officers and committees; direct overall operations of chapter.
e. Recommend and establish goals and objectives for the club with the approval of the membership, faculty, and professional advisers.
f. Be in contact with faculty advisers about all Psychology Club actions.
g. Check mailbox in Psychology office on a regular basis.
h. Check mailbox in Kimmel Leadership Center weekly.
i. Work with Treasurer to order supplies using Annual Allocation Funds.


Vice President: The vice president's duties will consist of the following:

a. Provide motivation and encouragement to all members of Psychology Club.
b. Perform all duties of the president if the president is absent or unable to perform his or her duties.
c. Assist the president in coordinating and directing committee activities and club operations.
d. Perform duties as may be delegated by the president.
e. Serve as a counselor to the president by recommending goals, objectives, plans, and programs.
f. Be in contact with faculty advisers about all Psychology Club actions.
g. Oversees all Psychology Club sponsored events.
h. Provide a graphic history of Psychology Club by maintaining a scrapbook of past events.


Secretary: The secretary's duties will consist of the following:

a. Provide motivation and encouragement to all members of Psychology Club.
b. Record the minutes of executive board meetings, general membership meetings, and handle the appropriate distribution of these minutes.
c. Maintain a record of chapter members, including a permanent home address and school address of each member.
d. Handle all club correspondence.
e. Check mailbox in the main Psychology Office weekly.
f. Check the email account on a weekly basis.


Treasurer: The treasurer's duties will consist of the following:

a. Provide motivation and encouragement to all members of Psychology Club.
b. Provide financial reports at club meetings.
c. Collect fees for any activities.
d. Disburse chapter funds with proper approval.
e. Provide safekeeping for all chapter funds and keep accurate financial records.
f. Work with President to order supplies using the Annual Allocation Funds.
g. Coordinate fund raisers.


Communications Director: The Communications Director's duties will consist of the following:

a. Provide motivation and encouragement to all members of Psychology Club.
b. Post announcements for club events and meetings throughout campus.
c. Coordinate press releases, feature articles, and advertising for all club activities.
d. Promote Psychology Club to all SIUE students through flyers, letters, and other promotional means.
e. Maintain Psychology Club website with current information about the Club, the officers, and events.
