As a member of the Inter-University Consortium for Political
and Social Research, the Department of Political Science at
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville joins with over 400
other institutions in their commitment to provide access to
a vast archive of social science data for the purpose of research
and instruction. As the gatekeeper to these and other data resources,
the Department has a unique opportunity to encourage student
use of available resources while incorporating social science
data into its curriculum. While there is certainly no shortage
to virtual data holdings, most of these sites have been created
for the seasoned veteran of quantitative exploration.
