SIUE Academic Calendars

These calendars, designed by Roger Hill of the Physics Department, have been useful to our department in planning courses and other activities, and are being made available to anyone who would like to use them (but please note the Warning and Disclaimer below).  A partial sample, reduced in size, is shown at the right.  Class days are unshaded, exam periods have a light shading, and class vacation periods have a heavier shading (but note that these are not necessarily staff holidays or university closings).

The calendars are available as PDF (Portable Document Format) files, which can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader (any version from 3.0 on should work).  If you don't already have Acrobat Reader in your computer, you can download it free by going go to Adobe's home page (http://www.adobe.com), finding the part on downloading Acrobat Reader, and following the instructions for installing it.

To obtain a calendar, click the desired time period below.  Depending on how your computer is configured, either Acrobat Reader will automatically start up and display the calendar or the file will be saved on your computer.  The calendars can be viewed on the screen (some lines may appear to be missing depending on magnification and screen resolution), but they are really intended for printing and will look best that way.

For best appearance, in the Print dialogue box, the Shrink to Fit option should be unchecked, or the Page Scaling option is should be set to None, depending on your version of Acrobat Reader.

Warning and Disclaimer:  These calendars should not be considered "official".  The author designed them as a convenience to the SIUE community, but is not responsible for the actual planning of the academic schedule, and also cannot be responsible for consequences arising from the use of these calendars, such as the possibility of errors, misinterpretation, or discrepancies due to later changes that might be made in the academic schedule.  Although the calendars were carefully checked and are believed to be correct as of the date produced (shown at the bottom), anyone using them must agree to do so at his/her own risk.  For any important planning, one should consult the course announcement brochures to verify dates.  Also, some courses (especially weekend, partly-weekend, or summer courses) may not follow the "standard" schedules.

Note also:  Vacations shown by shading on these calendars are from classes, and are not necessarily staff vacations or university closings.
