HIRING UNIT:      UNIVERSITY SERVICES TO EAST ST. LOUIS
                           SIUE EAST ST. LOUIS CHARTER SCHOOL

TITLE/RANK:       Faculty Associate/Teacher (Mathematics, Science, English, Reading, Computer Science, Social Studies, and Special Education) (As Needed)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:      Will provide classroom instruction to students.  Will plan and implement classroom lecture and activities in coordination with computer-assisted instructional program.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:     9-1/2 month, full-time, term appointment beginning August 14, 2008.  Renewal contingent upon satisfactory work performance and availability of funds.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:     Local

SALARY RANGE:     Negotiable

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:        Bachelor's degree in subject area, Master's preferred, with Illinois Teachers Certification (secondary).  Prefer minimum of two years teaching experience at the high school level.  Successful experience in working with teenage at-risk youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.  Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position.
