HIRING UNIT:      DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDIES

TITLE/RANK:       Instructor

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:     Teach four courses per semester, principally classes in Introductory Sociology and Women, Gender, and Society.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:     Academic.  One academic year, non-tenure track beginning August 16, 2008 through May 15, 2009 with the possibility of renewal.  Percent of appointment 100%.

SOURCE OF FUNDS:     State

SALARY RANGE:      Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:       Minimum of a Master's degree in Sociology required; Ph.D. or doctoral level study in Sociology preferred.  Significant teaching experience preferred.  The ability to teach Introductory Sociology and the Sociology of Gender required.  Secondary areas of teaching open.
