PROGRAM
You will receive training in the interdisciplinary Rivers
Project curriculum. The summer training allows you to be crossed trained in all
six areas where curriculum has been developed. Fieldwork will be an important
portion of the activities. Experience tells us that river study works better if
two teachers from different disciplines at the same school are trained. It is
more fun working with others, so bring someone else. Past funding by NSF has
allowed the Rivers Project to create a Rivers Curriculum in six
areas--chemistry, biology, earth science, geography, mathematics, and language
arts. These six units have been written and field-tested by their developers --
other teachers. Pearson Education publishes the units that can be purchased
from the Rivers Project.
