If you have problems with your battery keeping charged then you should follow these steps.. 

• Plug the AC-adapter in to the Eco Log and in an outlet for power. 

• Pull the battery plate off and find the button at the top of the batteries inside the case - this is the "reset" button.

• Use your temperature probe or pen to push in the reset button and hold the button for 2-3 seconds.  You should notice the Eco Log turn on.  If  not, turn it on before resetting.

• Put the battery plate back on after resetting.

• Do anything you to run the battery down to as low as possible - Like leave it on Easy Log overnight.

• When completely discharged, place the Eco logger on the charger for a full 24 hours with the Eco Log TURNED OFF.  Do NOT leave it in Easy Log...make sure to STOP all experiments.

• If it does not work then repeat this one more time.
