Description:
H2O
Below,
originally designed for the Illinois Middle School Groundwater
Project, funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, introduces
groundwater into the middle school science or social science
curriculum.
The teacher’s guide contains chapters and hands-on
activities on the importance of groundwater, groundwater hydrology,
contamination, conservation, testing, and current issues.
The goal of the project and curriculum is to create a
community/school-based partnership that focuses on understanding
groundwater issues.
Using the Groundwater flow model and the sequential
curriculum, students are able to explore and experiment with the
water cycle as they build the knowledge and skills to become
informed decision-makers.
