D Net/Aquatic Handle
ATTACHING THE D-NET TO THE POLE
You will notice that this D-Net does not come with a handle. We are into
reusing, so you will have to find a handle. Take any old mop, broom, rake, or
other handle and saw off the wooden part as close to the mop, etc as you can.
Lay the wooden pole on the ground and with a chisel or large screwdriver break
out grooves that are as long as the exposed iron on the net. Make the groove
wide enough to hold the iron. Repeat this on the opposite side of the wooden
pole.
Placing the wooden pole in a vise and drilling two grooves on opposite sides
might also accomplish this groove making process.
Now attach the net to the pole by placing the exposed iron ends in the pole
grooves and lowering the hose clamp over both. Using a screwdriver, tighten the
hose clamp. Move the net so that the iron is well positioned in the two groves
and continue to tighten the clamp.
You may also find that another clamp might be needed to hold the net firmly.
That will depend on the size of the pole and how deep you have made the grooves.
The clamp will also work loose with use so you have to carry a screwdriver to
the field or tighten the clamp before going out. This net is inexpensive but
affective. Be sure to dry the net well after use because mildew will attack the
net cloth. Place in a dry location, out of the sun, after use.
