Professional Associations:

The Museum Studies Association

Students of the museum studies program formed the Museum Studies Association at SIUE in 2004 as a student and alumni association.

The Museum Studies Association is in affiliation with the SIUE Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Museum Studies program and The University Museum.

The Museum Studies Association exists to promote scholarly and professional development opportunities for its members through establishing relationships with museum professionals and academics, encouraging professional and ethical service to the museum community, and supporting its members in pursuing professional development activities.

The Association hopes to pursue the following:

  • Networking

  • Volunteering

  • Visiting Museums and Historic Sites

  • Inviting Guest Speakers to Campus

  • Meeting with Museum Professionals

  • Participating in Professional Development Activities
