Acrostic Poem Presentations/Social Studies/Career Choice

Language Arts - Writing and Oral: Day 4

Objectives:

Students will read their acrostic poems to classmates following given rubric.

After reading their poem, students will identify the career choice they selected and briefly tell why they made this choice.

Students will complete Research a Career worksheet and bring Internet/magazine pictures for career choice for the next class.

Procedures:

This lesson will require one 50-minute work session. Students will take turns reading individual acrostic poems.

After their poem reading, students will identify their career choices and three reasons why they selected this career.

Assessment:

Students will be assessed using presentation rubric. They will need to identify their career choice and three reasons why.
