Day 3

 

Objective:

Students will have heard the chapter read aloud during “read aloud’ time.

Students will use the computer lab to complete an online research project for creating a “Wanted Poster” for a character study of Kissin’ Kate.

Materials:

Copies of the book Holes by Louis Sachar for each student.

bullet

Poster board paper for each student with markers and a variety of drawing materials.

bullet

In the computer lab, log on to the Welcome to Camp Green Lake web site: http://www.bgcs.k12.oh.us/kramp/wanted%20poster.htm
and each student will begin the webquest.

Procedures:

After reading the chapter, discuss the personality of Kissin’ Kate in small groups. List a few of her character traits on the board. In the computer room log on to the web site http://www.bgcs.k12.oh.us/kramp/wanted%20poster.htm

After digging up some old information about old Wanted posters, the student will create their own Wanted poster for Kissin’ Kate.
