
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a comprehensive state university 20 miles from downtown St. Louis, Missouri, invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Mathematics at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2004. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in any area of Mathematics or Mathematics Education. We will consider applicants who have a strong commitment to teaching and a demonstrated capacity to perform research. The successful candidate will teach both lower and upper level courses and will share responsibility for student advisement and senior project direction. Candidates who have experience integrating mathematical software in their teaching will be preferred.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 18 full time faculty members and offers undergraduate programs in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, and secondary education, and master’s programs in mathematics, statistics and operations research, and applied and computational mathematics.
