Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a comprehensive state university 20 miles from downtown St. Louis, Missouri, invites applications for an instructor position in mathematics beginning August 2005.  We will consider applicants who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.  For the position, applicants should have a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics; the successful candidate will teach College Algebra through Calculus and other lower level courses. The appointment will be for 9 months (with or without the possibility of renewal at the discretion of the department) with a teaching load of four courses per semester (12-14 credit hours per semester).

 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has 19 full time faculty members and offers undergraduate programs in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, and secondary education, and a master’s program with emphasis in mathematics, statistics and operations research, and applied mathematics.  For more information visit http://www.siue.edu/MATH, or call (618) 650-2382.
