Student Right to Privacy
Under Public Law 93-380 as amended, specific types of student directory information
are made available to the general public. The information listed below will be available to
any person inquiring as to such data for each student enrolled at SIUE unless the student
has filed a written objection to the release of this information. Student information will
also be included in the published student directory unless the student has filed a written
objection to the release of this information. Directory information includes:
- Student name
- Student address and telephone number
- Current attempted hours
- Classification
- Student program information (college, major and minor)
- Dates of attendance
- Degrees and honors earned
- Most recent educational agency or institution attended prior to enrollment at SIUE
- Participation in officially recognized activity or sport
- Weight and height of members of athletic teams
- Date of birth
Students objecting to the release of this information should contact the office through which
they registered for their courses to obtain the Release of Directory Information form.
