There is an increasing number of geography instructors who are developing Internet-based courses which are utilizing or "mining" the existing material and often creating original material for their own courses. What is often forgotten is that all students do nothave the same level of computer or Internet skills. Therefore, the Internet elements will present a struggle instead of an aid to learning without appropriate training. This article will briefly discuss the relationship of the development of Internet-based geography courses at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and the associated training, present results from student evaluation surveys and give recommendations concerning the development of web-based courses and training.Read the Paper
