    Additonal Requirements for all Teacher Candidates:
    Credit is earned for only those courses in which grades of C or better are earned. A "B" average in the major is required for certification.

    Students who declare themselves as teacher candidates beginning fall 2005 must demonstrate Advanced-Low oral proficiency (ACTFL scale) in order to meet requirements for student teaching.  In order to demonstrate Advanced-Low oral proficiency, teacher candidates obtain an Advanced Level Check certificate.

    Teacher candidates who declared prior to fall 2005, must complete an interview with the Teacher Advisory Committee of the FL Dept. in order to be accepted for student teaching. Applications are due the 1st week of the semester prior to the semester in which the candidates plan to student teach.
