Alumni Hall

Alumni Hall

Founders and Alumni Halls house the Schools of Business, Education, and Nursing, as well as the Department of Speech Communication, Dean's College, the Office of the Aerospace Studies, Air Force and Army ROTC, and the Career Development Center. The buildings were opened in 1976.

School of Business

The School of Business is housed in both Founders and Alumni Hall. It offers degrees in Accountancy, Business Education, Business Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, and Management Information Systems, with many specializations available within those programs. It enjoys a very strong reputation in the St. Louis area. Its Accountancy program is the only accredited program in accountancy in the metropolitan area and its MBA program is well established and highly respected. The School of Business has the largest faculty and the highest enrollment of SIUE's schools. Its members have received national and international recognition for many of their achievements.

School of Nursing

The School of Nursing is located on the second floor of Alumni Hall. It offers the only four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in southern Illinois, including a degree-completion program option for RN's. SIUE also offers programs leading to the Master of Science degree in Nursing with specializations in psychiatric, medical-surgical and community health nursing.

School of Education

The School of Education prepares students for traditional classroom teaching as well as for careers in special education and school administration. At SIUE, psychology is also included in the School of Education. Many students use psychology as the basis for graduate training in industrial or clinical psychology or counseling.

Career Development Center

The Career Development Center is a comprehensive center for the development of career objectives and direction for students and alumni. The center assists students and alumni to relate academic majors to career fields in the implementation and enhancement of their individual career development, exploration and confirmation of career/major choices and the development of search strategies. Cooperative Education is also a major component of the career development process in assisting students in all majors to gain related work experience in paid paraprofessional positions while attending SIUE.
