Paul Shetley has over 21
years of practical and management experience
in water quality and environmental science. This
includes performing groundwater and
surface water quality
investigations, wetlands determinations, and environmental impact
analysis throughout
the nation for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Energy,
Departments
of Transportation and at many industrial facilities.
His administrative experience includes
project and site manager of environmental investigation, and six years
as the
manager of a water distribution system in Southwestern
Illinois.

Kim E. Bateman

Kim Bateman, has over 22 years of
experience in the field of Water and Wastewater operation and training.
He has an Illinois plumber's license combined with an IEPA license for
certifying backflow prevention devices. For the past eleven years Mr.
Bateman has been the dedicated training specialist for the State of
Illinois in Cross-Connection Control. He also assists the Illinois
Department of Public Health in training Illinois Licensed Plumbers and
State Inspectors their required continuing education.

Barbara Woods

Barb instructs in-service and
pre-service courses in ground water and surface water treatment. Topics
covered include operations, maintenance, lab testing, rules, reporting
requirements, and design criteria required for water plant operation.
Prior to becoming an instructor at ERTC, Barb worked for Missouri
American water as a plant operator for 14 years. Barb graduated from
ERTC in 1988. Barb has top water operator certification in both
Missouri and Illinois.

John T. Harper
Program Director of Wastewater Training Program

John has 13 years of experience in
the water & wastewater field. Here at ERTC he is predominately
instructing courses in wastewater treatment for the pre-service and
in-service programs. Prior to working for ERTC, John was the Division
Manager for a facility management company. He has operated water
distribution systems, and ground water treatment plants. He has
operated wastewater lagoons, trickling filters, activated sludge plant,
and collection systems. He has ran both water and wastewater lab. John
graduated from ERTC in 1994.

David Wesselmann

David
is a 11 year Air Force veteran with experience in water
quality control, hazardous material control and waste
sampling, radiological hazard control, and industrial
hygiene assessments at Vandenberg Air Force Base,
California, Kunsan Air Base Korea, and Anderson Air
Base, Guam. Mr. Wesselmann also performed duties as an
instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, training
medical, public health, and environmental personnel for
field deployments. His prior laboratory experience also
includes 3 years with the United States Army as a
laboratory technician.

Marty Reynolds

Marty is the Public Works Director for the Village of Roxana, Illinois. He has worked for the Environmental Resource Training Center as an adjunct instructor since 1982, teaching Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Drinking Water Supply Operator training courses. Marty holds a Class A, Public Water Supply Operators License and a Class 1, Water Pollution Control Operators License. He has been a contributing author on two articles published in the journal of the American Water Works Association and authored training materials for California State University at Sacramento, on Ion Exchange Softening, and training materials for Illinois Public Water Supply Operators on Ion Exchange Softening. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from Western Illinois University, and was selected Ground Water Supply Operator of the Year in 1982.

Jim Winslade

James Winslade has 30 years of practical operations experience in the water/wastewater field. He has operated wastewater treatment systems including aerated lagoons, fixed film, and activated sludge. he has also operated both ground and surface drinking water treatment systems. Jim's operations career began with the U.S. Air Force in Illinois and then moved to Alask for the next 28 years. he has taught as an adjunct instructor at ERTC for the last five years in both water and wastewater.

Marsha Webb

Marcia began working for ERTC in December 2004. Marcia assists the Director and ERTC staff in carrying out the functions of ERTC. Marcia previously worked for SIUE in Papers on Language and Literature, as an administrative secretary for the School of Social Sciences, and as a departmental secretary for Sociology and Social Work while working on her MS in City and Regional Planning. She also has 17 years experience in the dental profession as an Office Manger and Chairside Dental Assistant. Marcia is a member of the Junior League of Greater Alton, and affiliate of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), whose mission is the well being of children. Marcia is very active in the fund-raising and projects of JLGA and has served on various board positions as well as attending ODI training sessions. This year she is on the Madison County Child Advocacy Center Committee. Marcia also volunteers each year at the Give Kids a Smile Day at the SIU/SDM.
