Frequently
Asked Questions
How
Does the Self-Study Training Course Work?
This training course allows you to progress at your own pace
and to study the materials when and where you prefer. Answer
sheets are sent to ERTC for grading and remarks. The staff
at ERTC is available to answer any questions you may have
regarding the course.
What
Will I Be Required To Do?
1. Proceed through each lesson by reading through short sections,
writing answers for the questions at the end of each section
and then checking your answers.
2. Complete the test at the end of each chapter on the answer
sheet provided by ERTC. Send each completed test to the ERTC
for grading.
How
Long Does It Take To Complete A Course?
The time needed to complete a course depends upon each person.
Set your own pace, but establish a regular schedule. Most
students require from 100-150 hours of study to complete each
course.
Do
I Get A Certificate When I Finish?
Yes. Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate
of Completion and appropriate contact hours. Upon successful
completion of a self-study course, equivalent credit may be
granted toward the experience requirement necessary to take
an Illinois certification exam. For exact information, you
must contact the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency,
Division of Public Water Supply and/or Division of Water Pollution
Control.
