SUBMIT to the 2011 River Bluff Review
DEADLINE:
Wednesday, February 2, 2011 - midnight
ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF SUBMISSIONS: poetry, prose (fiction, creative nonfiction, and essays), graphic narrative; photography and drawings (black and white only). Works should not have previously appeared in print.
LENGTH/NUMBER OF SUBMISSIONS: No more than five total unpublished pieces of art or written work should be submitted. For written material, no individual piece should exceed 5,000 words or 16 pages.
ELIGIBILITY: All undergraduate and graduate students of SIUE are eligible to submit works.
SUBMITTING WORK:
- The preferred method of submission is by email. Please send your work to riverbluffreview@gmail.com as attachments. (One email may have multiple attachments.) Send text-only submissions in Word format. Graphic files should be sent as JPEGs (300 dpi). If your work is in another format, please contact us before submitting.
- Alternately, you may turn in hard copy submissions at the River Bluff Review box in the 3200 wing of Peck Hall right outside the English Department. The RBR mail slot is located in the bottom left hand corner of the mailboxes.
- The author’s/artist's name should not appear on any of the pieces submitted.
- Please include the following information with your submission: submitter's name, e-mail, phone number, mailing address, and the titles, word count (as applicable), and categories (i.e., fiction, poetry, play, etc.) of works. If you submit electronically, please include this info in the body of your email. Hard copy submissions should include a separate cover sheet.
- We will send you an email notification that your work has been received. If you do not receive this notification, you should assume that your work has NOT been received and resubmit.
- Hard copies of artwork not used for the journal will be returned once the final editorial decisions have been made. Accepted artwork will be returned once the journal has gone to print.
- Editorial decisions are made by early March.
