Starving Hysterical Naked

Moon Icon

They put their books aside
Went out into the street
Half-dressed, half-assed, and half-stoned
Went into bars and screwed
Sixteen-year-old girls in the back
Gay bartenders gave them highballs
And Manhattans and a place to sleep downtown

Got the girls into cars
Pulled down their pants
Pushed dope across the country
And into a big pipe with an Indian
Played William Tell games and lost
Naked, cold, and fast in a stolen car
Divorcing women like passing telephone poles

Hitched, hooked, and hopped back east
Took what they had learned
With a cup of green tea and Benzedrine
Tried Homosexuality, Existentialism
They also wore French hats
Wrote it all down in two weeks
And went back reading the books they set aside
