What to Do with Billy?
There is a little sociopath in all of us,
I named mine Billy.
Some times the two of us play hide-and-seek
with my conscience.
We snicker when it sneaks into the cloakroom.
Quick, bolt the door!
Me and Billy take long walks together.
We see clouds that are
severed limbs and lusty things.
Billy is a black sheep?
Well, I am a snail without a shell.
Billy seldom gets to come out and play,
but I can't keep him in the cellar
with the musty roots that twitch and breathe.
I can't bind him to a chair;
I might unstitch myself.
