Horoscope
Matthew Schmitz

You slunk away as dawn was yawning day,
awakening the sky. And, reaching for
your form, I also rose as the moon fell away,
seeking the image I knew from before,
when we were one--your Venus having left
the house, our limbs and lives were interlocked
together with the heavens as our bed.
Now all's not right in heaven. They're not gods,
but psychics say the fault is in our stars--
our moon has cycled to another phase.
And even though you will reject my heart
and look for comfort in another face,
I cannot wrench your arrow from my chest--
Whose house are you in now Sagittarius?
