Welcome to ELLA, the English Language and Literature Association at SIUE.
The purpose of ELLA is to create a literary community on the SIUE campus, and to serve students interested in English Language, English as a Second Language, English and American Literature, popular literature, creative writing, and to provide professional preparation for careers in the above-mentioned disciplines.
ELLA also co-sponsors, and is the driving force behind, the ELLA Speaker Series, which brings renowned scholars and artists in various literature- and language-related disciplines to campus for informative talks and classroom visits.
Creative writing workshops are being held the first and third Fridays of every month from 2-4, except when the Friday falls right before a school break. For more information about the workshops, including the exact location, contact Elizabeth Moore.
ELLA is always looking for students interested in sharing their love of literature, language, and creative writing.
