ENG 101 ESSAYS
A student who successfully completes ENG 101 is prepared to enter English 102, as well as to complete a variety of writing assignments in other courses at the university. The audience for those courses will be professors and instructors, and the subject of most assignments will be related to the courses being taught. Ideally, ENG 101 assignments will teach students how to write essays in a standard language for a general, academic-oriented audience. The assignments will also teach students how to think critically, logically, and imaginatively. Communicating what they know about their subject in writing that their professors and instructors can understand and enjoy reading is what students should learn in ENG 101.
