and Background:
George Engel joined
the electrical engineering faculty at SIUE in 1993. Prior to that
he was involved in a variety of research projects including design of analog
integrated circuits and digital systems, low-power digital hearing aid
technology, circuit design for ultrasonic imaging systems, electric utility
monitors and magnetic disk drives. Most recently, Dr. Engel has worked
with a team of researchers to develop a multi-channel integrated circuit
for use in a series of nuclear physics experiments. He is also collaborating
with Washington University researchers and Magtek, Inc. in Carson, California,
to develop a method for authenticating magnetic media.
