Daniel Strackeljahn, an undergraduate engineering student, is attending SIUE to pursue his second career in mechanical engineering. His prior career was teaching high school industrial technology, specifically drafting, computer programming, and vocational arts. After a few years of teaching, he realized he loved the subject of technology, but needed something more challenging and dynamic. "Mechanical engineering was a natural progression from my industrial technology background and SIUE provides exciting yet affordable ME courses". Daniel's interests include design engineering in product research and development.
