ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) is a professional organization that was founded in 1894. Today, it has more than 51,000 members. ASHRAE has student chapters at academic institutions all over the world. SIUE Student Branch of ASHRAE was established in Fall 2010. Although it is a new chapter, it made a significant impact on the students, not only from Mechanical Engineering discipline, but also from other disciplines such as Civil Engineering and Construction. Prestigious engineers from the greater St. Louis area have been visiting SIUE as invited speakers, and sharing their experience and knowledge with engineering students since the activation of the SIUE Student Branch of ASHRAE.
