SIUE team won the first place in the final competition of Design Competition on Robotics sponsored by ASME International. The competitors were the winners of the 13 regional competitions, and included the most prestigious universities such as Carnegie Mellon University, and international participants such as Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. According to Swami Karunamoorthy, the Chair of ASME - St. Louis Section, this is the first time in recent years a team from Region VII won this event.
